She's a Mover and a Shaker

Right after Christmas, Livvie finally mastered crawling!

For a few weeks, she'd been getting up on her hands and knees and rocking, or maybe crawling one or two (Mom even saw four) steps. But then, a few days after Christmas, she just got it, and now she is all over the place.

One of her favorite activities is pulling the books and toys off of these shelves. She always looks quite pleased with herself afterward.

I finally got a video of her crawling. I think this was actually her 10 month birthday. I can tell because there is Subway on the table, and we got that the day I came down with a short-lived stomach bug, because for some reason I always want a Subway sandwich when my stomach has been iffy. Anyway, here she is:

  1. Lily just watched this video three times on my phone with much laughter. She says her favorite part was Olivia swatting Ben's face because "That's what my baby is going to do to me."

On another note, Livvie sure is a daddy's girl, isn't she? And man, what a cutie!

    1. Yes, Lily better get prepared for some innocent slapping and toy stealing. It's what Liv does best. I am really trying to make her daddy's girl. She just loves being held and carried around by anyone. But she is going through a phase where she wants me more lately. If I'm in another room, she crawls in after me and cries until I pick her up. Aw, so cute. But sometimes frustrating. I'm sure she'll be back to being daddy's girl again soon, though. And yeah, we think she's pretty cute!

  3. We just finished watching Ben's dance moves and (at Lily's request) had to come back and watch this video over again.

I am once again baffled as to how you and Mike ended up with two blue-eyed children.

    1. We are also baffled with the blue eye thing. Mike's grandma and Lula Pearl had blue eyes, so I guess that is it. Just seems weird that both kids would get the recessive blue eye gene. Go figure? Though Liv's eyes are starting to look more gray-blue. There's a chance hers could still darken. I sort of hope not though. Her gray-blue is cool.

    2. Then she will be able to say the Dave Matthews song "Gray-Blue Eyes" is about her. Not as good as "Brown-Eyed Girl," but much better than "Green-Eyed Lady, Voodoo Lady."
